E500 Review By -Jayson Tylers-

Olympus Evolt E500 8MP Digital SLR with Zuiko 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 Digital SLR Lens

Until recently I had olympus OM-1 and have always been fascinated by machines Olympus digital SLR, though I also looked around looking at Canon and Nikon …

Eventually I recovered this machine with double zoom kit on E-bay. It has not disappointed my expectations. Small but not too light, with 2 excellent optics (according to many professional photographers and personally heard from me that read on the Internet are higher than the kit lenses from Canon and Nikon) (continue reading…)

Olympus e-3 Review Final

E3 Review By -F. Haynes-

Olympus Evolt E-3 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with Mechanical Image Stabilization with ED 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0 Lens and FL-50R Flash

White Balance

The balance of this camera is definitely the best I’ve ever seen, is already an automatic system that works well and easily deceived, then the possibilities of manual settings are endless.

I believe that such precision is derived from the external sensor specially dedicated to that function.

It can take a neutral gray card reference, or select the most appropriate balance using the Kelvin (3000-7500), there is a preset shade, cloudy, tungsten, sunny, three types of fluorescent lamps (continue reading…)

SENSOR

The Live MOS sensor is a 10 megapixel Four Thirds format. This is the standard by Olympus (which together with other producers created a consortium to promote it)

in order to offer something different from the format has always been used by traditional cameras, and APS (the traditional non-APS cameras, as well as the digital compact the non-full frame digital SLR, which usually have dimensions equal to 24×16mm) is format “full” 35mm (ie 36×24mm). The sensitivity of the sensor goes up to ISO 3200. By a sensor so small we would expect lower sensitivities, but we must also consider that as a professional camera are relatively few pixels (10 megapixels) for which the size of individual pixels is not so different from that of other ODA.

Certainly at ISO 1600 still produces usable images (though in my opinion not compare favorably low, eg. With a full format as that of the Canon EOS 5D), but in 3200 the dynamic range drops too low (the colors flatten) and noise becomes evident despite all the “cleaning” the signal.

Camera BODY
This flagship has an excellent magnesium alloy body sealed for use in all weather conditions. To understand that is sealed with gaskets and systems that make it impervious to rain and dust. (continue reading…)

Olympus Evolt E-3 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with Mechanical Image Stabilization with ED 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0 Lens and FL-50R Flash

According to Olympus, the E-3 incorporates the fastest autofocus in the world.

Certainly is among the fastest SLR with its 5 frames per second and a buffer that comes to hold 19 pictures in RAW format!
Add that this is a very compact camera, weighing considerably less than the equivalent of Nikon or Canon.

Autofocus system :
Let’s see why Olympus cries at record speed. The AF system of this camera works on two axes (continue reading…)

Olympus E330 Review

E330 Review By “Pearce Watt”

Olympus Evolt E330 7.5MP Digital SLR Camera with 14-45mm f3.5/5.6 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens

This time I want to talk about the Olympus E-330.

It was quality and it was the first DSLR in the world with continuous live view function on the LCD, the Olympus E-330 and that gives the photographer full creative freedom and flexibility unattainable so far with a camera.

Thanks to its special design, the improvement E-System can accommodate two separate image sensors, enabling two different live mode view. In mode A, which locks into “Full Time Live View, you use a COD inserted in the optical path of the viewfinder that returns 92% field of view and full AF functionality. (continue reading…)
